On 02/25/2016 at 9.30 AM, the Russian air force carried out five air strikes targeting the eastern side of the archeological site of Ebla. Another five air strikes were carried out the next day on Friday 2/26/2016 at 3.30 pm causing serious damage to the western and southern sides of the archeological site.
