Tel Al-Hessen is located east of Deir Sharqi village, around 7 km away from the Aleppo-Damascus highway.
It has an area of 66 acres, 400m by 165m, with a base that spans 50 acres (1150m by 425m), and an elevation of nearly 50m.
Unlike other hills, this one remains intact and free of illicit digging/looting and dredging.
Though no information is available on the history of this mound, it is believed to date back to the 18th century B.C.
